Creating a Free Tier Account in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Task Flow
- Goto the Oracle Cloud Free Tier page.
- Sign Up for an Oracle Cloud Account by Clicking “Start for Free.”
- Fill details - Enter your account information and confirm your email.
- Payment - Have a Credit or Debit card with balance, a minimum amount of 1$ or 2$ will be debited from your Account, after few hours it will be refunded.
- Click "Start my free Trail"
- After this you will receive an Email with Account Name and User Name (at the time of creation if you have choosen your email as UserName then your email is your UserName) and a Sign in button, click the button.
- It will take you the your Oracle Account Fill the details including Account Name and User Name and signin to your Account.
- Setup MFA - For security, configure MFA using the Oracle Mobile Authenticator (OMA) application. Follow the instructions provided in the console.
- Explore the Console - Log in to the OCI Console using your new account. Familiarize yourself with the interface and explore the available services.
- To see the tenancy details, In the Console Open the Profile menu => Tenancy
- To see the created resources, Navigation menu => Governance and administrations => Tenancy Explorer
Task 1: Create a Tenancy(Account) in (OCI).
you can use any authenticator App, but for this Lab, we are using the Google Authenticator App , take your Android device and goto Google Play store and Download the Google Authenticator app from your app store. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Authenticator. "keep the Authenticator App ready for scan".
